ATM stands for Attackable Transaction Machine, March 15

We are excited to have Aaron Herndon return to give another engaging talk! Aaron has a mixed IT background in system hardening, development operations, risk management, and blue team operations. A few years ago he made the transition into offensive security and now works as a penetration tester for Rapid7, conducting tests for a variety of industries including financial, healthcare, technology (hosting companies, ISPs, software development shops), and the energy industry. His primary focus is on network penetration testing, IoT device testing, social engineering, and red team operations. As a Michigan resident Aaron has spoken at GrrCon 2017 and 2018, as well as Merit Network’s 2018 Cyber Security Summit.

Where is this event? At Davenport University, their Lettinga Main Campus. Located at 6191 Kraft Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49512. We will be in the Sneden Center Meeting Hall 3.

Discussing security that you can ‘bank’ on, this talk dives into exploiting Automated Transaction Machine (ATM) software. At a high level, attendees will gain insight into common ATM architecture and security mechanisms. Building upon this knowledge, the talk will take a deeper dive into ATM drivers and software, and how they are exploited to turn ATMs into a slot machine that criminals hit the jackpot on with every pull.

The building is squared in green by parking lot E.
